Crow Chinese Reader is operated by Crow Tech Pte. Ltd. This notice covers the reader app and its lesson service. The Crow Tech website privacy policy separately covers visits to crow.sg and messages sent through that website.

Reading on your device

The app keeps downloaded lessons, reading position, saved words, preferences, and study exports on your device. We do not upload that study data to our lesson server. If you choose to export or share it, the destination you choose receives it. Deleting an online account does not erase these local files; removing the app from your device may erase them.

Online account and purchases

To download online lessons or use the one-time library purchase, the app uses Sign in with Apple. Our server stores Apple's account identifier, an account token used to match purchases, an encrypted Apple authorization refresh token, hashed session tokens, and the public key and counters used to check App Attest. It also stores Apple transaction identifiers and entitlement status needed to grant or restore paid access. We do not receive your payment-card details. The app does not ask Apple to share your name or email address.

Our service and Cloudflare process your IP address and request details to deliver lessons and limit abuse. Apple processes sign-in and purchases under its own terms. We do not include an advertising or analytics SDK in the iOS app, and we do not sell personal data. Opening an external source-credit or dictionary link leaves the app and is subject to that destination's practices.

Retention and deletion

Account and purchase-binding records remain while your online account is active. Short-lived sign-in challenges and sessions expire, although expired rows may remain until cleanup. You can delete your online account in Settings. This removes its live server sessions, Apple authorization token, device-key binding and purchase-binding record, and attempts to revoke Apple authorization. Operational backups may retain earlier copies until their rotation; they are restricted to recovery use. Apple may retain purchase records under its own policies. Your local study data remains on the device after online account deletion.
